I hope you guys enjoyed my last blog on my favourite restaurants in the Northern Quarter, I thought I’d give a few more recommendations for those who love a good night out and a drink or 2!!! With so many places to choose from it was very hard to narrow it down, but here are a few of my favourites that I think everyone should definitely take a look at if they ever visit Manchester! Enjoy!

Crazy Pedro’s:

Pedro’s may just be my favourite bar I have ever been to; the vibe and the friendly people inside along with the great music and beer pong – it’s just a no brainer. Whenever a friend comes up to visit from down south I always take them there. That’s without even mentioning the fact that they serve pizza till 4am!! It’s such a great place to stay with your friends all night and you don’t even have to worry about getting food after, as it’s all in one place. Pedro’s, great for pre-drinks as their happy hour lasts from 5-9pm with 2-4-1 Cocktails and they are also student friendly with money off pizza and drinks from 12-5pm! You’re guaranteed a good time in Pedro’s. What’s not to love? late drinking, late pizza, great vibe and it won’t break the bank. Crazy Pedro’s Part Time Pizza Parlour is MY go-to fav. There is one on Bridge Street, near St Anne’s Square and the other on Short Street in the NQ.

Luck Lust Liquor and Burn:

This quirky central NQ bar, on the corner of High St, opposite Blu, has one of the coolest vibes in the NQ, offering an extensive range of bottled and canned craft beers, as well as 8 on tap and many exotic cocktails. They also offer a variety of Mexican bar food; quesadillas, nachos and burritos can be enjoyed alongside a pint of your choice. Tuesday, however, is by far the best day to visit as its ‘£1 Taco Tuesday’! Yes, £1!  Street tacos all night long served from 4pm. The Mexican theme of this bar fits in perfectly with the diversity of the Northern Quarter and the surrounding restaurants and bars in the area; it’s friendly and unashamedly casual and quirky. Beneath the rustic urban simplicity of its shabby chic chair and table oddments, there are 4 major tick boxes for this corner bar; it offers those with an appetite -huge portions, California -sized burgers, dirty scrummy finger food and a SERIOUSLY impressive range of beers to wash it all down.

The Freemount:

This underrated hidden gem is situated between Oldham and Tib street, right in the centre of the NQ. This stylish evening bar is great for meeting friends after work and is one of my favourite places in Manchester for live music. One evening I spent with my cousin, we thoroughly enjoyed listening to a young female with her guitar giving her own renditions of many of the greatest hits over the last decade. It wasn’t over bearing or distracting it fitted perfectly with the ambience of the bar, the staff are super friendly and are always up for a chat! They are open from midday everyday till 2am on weekdays and 3am on weekends, weekends are great as there is always a funky music night of some sort going on! So, whether you’re looking for a classy afternoon drink or a chilled evening with some great music, The Freemount should definitely be at the top of your list!

Kiely’s Irish Bar

With my proud Irish roots, it was always inevitable that drinking Guinness would follow me from London to Manchester. At first, I found it difficult to find many bars or pubs that served a good pint of Guinness, but since my first visit to Kiely’s back in November 2017, there has been no going back. Following in my dad’s footsteps, I have always been very fussy over where I would drink Guinness, but I think it is safe to say that Kiely’s Irish bar delivers the very best in Manchester. Expect the traditional Irish craic, with live sport and music on the weekends and along with many Irish whiskies and a selection of gins, everybody can expect a great night! Kiely’s delivers with a really fun, easy-going atmosphere with extremely friendly bartenders and a sociable drinking environment for all ages. The bar is situated on Watson Street across the road from Manchester’s Albert Hall, a 5-minute walk from St Peter’s Sq. If you’re in search for Manchester’s ‘perfect’ pint of Guinness, Kiely’s is the one.
